Rooted in a legacy that spans over four centuries, House of Rohet is the living heritage of a distinguished noble family of Rajasthan. For more than fifteen generations, the Rohet family has left an indelible mark in the realms of military service, governance, sport, politics, social service, and education – and today, their tradition of excellence continues through the art of hospitality.
The family’s story began in 1622, when Thakur Dalpat Singh I was granted the Jagir of Rohet by the Maharajah of Jodhpur in recognition of his unmatched valour in battle – a warrior so fearless, it is said he bore 84 wounds upon his body and was rewarded with 84 villages. Through the centuries, the family continued to serve with honour and distinction. In the early 20th century, Thakur Dalpat Singh II carried forward this legacy, achieving international acclaim as an eight-goal polo player and a key member of the legendary Jodhpur Polo Team, before going on to command the illustrious Jodhpur Lancers.
As the tides of time shifted, so too did the family’s calling. In 1990, Thakur Manvendra Singh transformed their ancestral home, Rohet Garh, into an intimate heritage hotel, opening its gates to guests from around the world. What began as a humble experiment soon blossomed into an extraordinary collection of boutique luxury retreats, each offering an authentic glimpse into Rajasthan’s timeless charm and regal hospitality.
Today, House of Rohet stands as a testament to the family’s enduring commitment to excellence. Each property, from elegant heritage hotels to serene desert camps, embodies the grace, warmth, and traditions of Rajasthan, earning global acclaim and prestigious awards for their unmatched guest experiences.
House of Rohet proudly presents a rare collection of some of the world’s most distinguished boutique hotels and camps, where history, culture, and hospitality converge to create experiences that are, quite simply, unforgettable.
